By using Character Count, you agree to the terms on this page.

The service

Character Count is a free tool for counting characters, words, sentences, and paragraphs in text you provide, and for checking that text against common social media platform limits. It also includes Make it fit, a feature that uses an AI model to shorten or expand your text to a target length.

Use of the AI feature

Make it fit sends your text to a third party AI provider to generate a rewritten version. The output is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a person before it is shown to you. You are responsible for reading and checking any text produced by Make it fit before you publish, send, or otherwise rely on it. We do not guarantee that the AI output will be accurate, appropriate, or free of errors.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Character Count to process content that is illegal, that infringes on someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to submit. You also agree not to attempt to abuse, overload, or interfere with the service or the systems it depends on.

No warranty

Character Count is provided as is, without any warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, free of bugs, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Character Count and its operator are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost content, lost time, or reliance on AI generated output.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service changes. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
